
We might soon find ourselves conducting lengthy online discussions about abortion, climate change or the Russian invasion of Ukraine with entities that we think are humans - but are actually AI. According to the Israeli professor of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and author of the popular science bestsellers Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century: Harari’s recent contribution to The Economist argues that AI “has hacked the operating system of human civilization”. This does not sit easily with many people. Its presence has not only intensified, what’s certain it will stay and proliferate its usage among us. A lot of these ideas are attributed to the animated chapters of Artificial Intelligence - a seven-headed hydra who seems indestructible.
